Bill Burke 9¾" san mai 52100;
Pierre Rodrigue 240 CPM154;
Devin Thomas 10" ITK Western AEB-L.
Also rans include Shigefusa 225, a Yoshikane tamamoku 240 and a Masamoto KS 240.

You have to remember, that was 5(ish) years ago too. I also bought a Kramer for $500....a REAL Kramer.
If I recall, the first Shigefusa damascus 240mm wa-gyuto I bought was just north of $300...now $715 @ JWW.
Got a Harner nakiri and a Butchiki for prices that would make you vomit too.
My gosh...bringing back a lot of really fun memories.

Was the Takeda 240mm near $180 approx 5 yrs ago? Do you recall roughly how much it was then...
Takeda is one of my choices actually...Surprised no one else mentioned yet as one of their "top 3" in terms of geometry (and fit/finish, value...not that expensive for the knife it is IMHO).
