We once sent a guy out after a #10 can of Mise en Place.
He came back and said the store room didn't have any.
I proceeded to explain that Mise en Place only comes in bags.
"Oh, ok, be right back!"
That was the subject of laughs for days, better even than asking for the shrimp eggs from the pastry girls to grow some shrimp for the night's service.

I did this with some intern from CIA, but we had her grow sea monkeys overnight. I don't think that one ever finished out her degree.

I never worked professionally but was a head cook at a student cooperative in college. Fed 150 people every Tuesday.

My assistant hit me in the back of the head with a raw egg. I wheeled around and threw a split finger fast egg right into his coin purse. MINE were hard boiled.
