I got some time to work on handles/saya's FINALLY!!

Cherry saya for Masakage Koishi Bunka:

Fujiwara Terayasu 150mm petty (full tang) rehandled in really nice Ironwood and white/black/white spacers:

Left block is Bog Oak Ferrule, Mammoth tooth spacer and Curly Bubinga, 2nd is Blackwood, M3 White Aluminum spacer and Silky Oak, the next 3 are Blackwood/Cherry handles and the last is a Blackwood/Bubinga handle.

I also removed, downsized and cleaned up another handle I did a while back for a customer, forgot to get pics of that one.

Tim, is it wishful thinking that the leftmost block is going to be for me??? Looks like what we were talking about, only handle is not flamed redwood. Doesn't matter if so, I'll take it!!!

LOL, no, that is Todd (Toddmd I think?) for a Shig; he likes the same types of woods that I do, so he often finds blocks he likes and sets them aside for a certain knife. Haven't gotten to work on your handle yet, I have these to complete, and another 5 more I think? Hoping to get most of these done this weekend and finish them off this week! My new schedule has sucked for knife work. I shower in the morning before work and usually have to either do laundry or run the dishwasher at night after I get home and our well doesn't do too well water wise, so I can't shower again before I go to bed to clean up from making handles (I get covered in dust pretty badly). Before, when I worked 3rd shift, I would shower before bed in the afternoon, so when I got out of work, I could work on handles for a few hours before I had lunch and showered. Still trying to see how to sneak in some handle time during the week. I am going to get all of the facets cut on these tomorrow morning hopefully and then maybe during the week I can do the hand finishing and fitting portion of the handles since I get a lot less dusty with the hand finishing. That way on my days off, I can do the bulk of the dirty work and then finish up and oil coat during the week.

Good to see you are back at it again. I like the look of the simple Blackwood, cherry and bubinga blanks. Looking forward to seeing your pics of the finished handle.
