So a few of you heard that everyone here, at my work, have begun dropping off their knives with me for sharpening & repairs. So as if I don't have enough to do running a kitchen, I always say, "it will be my pleasure."
I really wanted to whip a used half-hollow I recently picked up into shape, but last night was an 8" serrated WMF Grand Gourmet slicer renovation.
Party explained that said knife no longer sliced meats... Yes, they said the serrated knife no longer sliced meats.
I explained that if the knife's utility was solely for that application that I would like to remove the serrations and get a straight edge on it. After long uncomfortable looks of confusion were exhibited, they acquiesced.
