I don't think so. I've been using the 'regular' one for years and it does everything I need it to do. I prefer 2 rods over one.

The basic one does just fine. Like Ken I prefer two rods over one also. Oh lord the earth must be slightly off tilt, that's twice in the last few days that me and Ken agree on something!

I have the Suihero, and it works just fine. Don't have a dual rod one to compare it with though.
Having said that, I also find the Shapton Pro box works great for touch-ups. It has grippy feet, and is just the right size for my Chosera 5k too.

NBLES <> The oversized Suehiro fits stones w/bases; the universal holder does not.

I have both & never use them as a damp folded towel works just fine for me.

Like a broken clock - right twice a day :)

We use the regular cheap one at the office. I use the naniwa sink bridge at home.

I have used the cheap one for the past 3 years, and JUST upgraded to the large one. I much prefer the suehiro one.

However, it is not necessary. I had no problems with the regular one, but i thought that I'd treat myself.
