You don't have to flip your stone over for it to wear evenly. I will spin my stone around to make sure I'm using the full side and not just part of it but with regular flattening you stone will wear just fine using one side.

Thanks Jeff, that is very helpful info. After thinking about it a bit more I completely get your point, I was thinking about it in the scope more of both sides as in top and bottom when actually both sides should be the "front and back" so to speak.
