If you mean the Deep South, uh... I guess you're out of luck.

Yeah, I was kinda kidding. I guess there aren't many members here that share hometowns. I was just a little surprised that most members are from the west or north it seems. I guess we're still figuring out computers down here :D

And like another member said, I may have to come back to this thread for future traveling.

Well, if you (or probably anyone else) are ever in my neck of the woods, rest assured I'll meet you for a glass or show you the good restaurants. Who knows? You're in tech and RTP is hot tech turf. I see more conferences and conventions every day.

If anyone comes here for the golf, I'll do the same as long as you promise not to talk about golf. Yes, I lived in Pinehurst. Yes, I know people. No, I do not know them well enough to get you into the open.

I own a 120 seat restaurant 30 minutes south of Milwaukee. Have for 14 years. We're on five acres and have an extensive organic garden and we're surrounded by farms, several of which I buy from. My main farmer is also organic. I call the food, "Fine dining with Midwestern sensibilities".

(If I hear another chef pontificating about "local" I'm going to puke. It's like breaking down boxes for the dumpster. You shouldn't have to tell anyone, it's a given)

Salty, so you're in between Chicago and Milwaukee, good area there :)

Currently working 2 jobs, both in the kitchen. Wilderness Ridge golf course is at a semi-private golf club that has fine dining, casual dining, pastry dept., and also a banquet/catering dept. I work in the fine dining portion of the restaurant 4 days a week.
I recently started work at a sushi bar opening next month in Lincoln NE. I'm still in training so it's too soon to tell where I land in the hierarchy of chefs but I'm working for the Sous Chef position.
