Hi,

Im interested in a starter kit of good quality knives and sharping equipment.
Assuming the following knives, could you tell what sharpening stones would you recommend please?

Mac pro 9.5" chefs knife - MBK-95
Mac pro utility knife PFK-60

Hi Ian,

Most of the synthetic stones we offer will work great for Mac knives. I would suggest you get a simple set that contains 2-3 stones and that will be all you need to get your knives super sharp.

This is our best selling starter set and I think it would work well for you: http://www.chefknivestogo.com/3pcstoneset.html

You'll get about as many recommendations for different sets of stones as replies.

At the end of the day, most, if not all, will be more than adequate to provide a very sharp knife.

The idea is to get a coarse, a medium and a fine stone.....500, 1000, and 6000 being the typical recommended progression.
