Ok, so I'm really enjoying the Strop Shoppe SE w/tallow soaps right now. What's your favorite shave soap?

I use Proraso Sapone. Has just a hint of menthol. Stuff lasts forever.

The Proraso is a good choice. I like the menthol soaps in the summertime. I live in Arizona and it gets pretty hot here so a nice menthol soap is excellent on a hot summer day. I go for the stronger menthol ones that leave your face frozen for 10 minutes like Stirling Glacial and QCS Vostok.

I am liking La Toja and Tabac right now.

I've tried Tabac and the scent wasn't for me. It performed excellent though. The La Toya is supposed to be great as well and I'd like to try that one some time. Nice choices there kalaeb.

RazoRock XXX, Yeti Snot and Art of Shaving Lavender depending on the mood....
I also have a bowl of squash soap... It is currently only MWF and Proraso squashed together but It will soon have the last chunk of an Arko stick added to it and a sample of Stirling Glacial. It is kind of a fun shave.

Mikes is my favorite. Mystic water is second. Both are small batch homemade. My wife started making soaps using the lard from our pork. We tried a batch with some of our beef tallow and yet they are decent soaps I don't feel they are as good as these two. We are continuing to adjust the recipe until I think it's good enough. Mikes is the benchmark. It is a great soap. It produces a thick lather that is very smooth.

I have one of the Art of Shaving tallow pucks and it's excellent as is the XXX. Definitely good choices there. I don't have the Yeti snot but I do have the Glacial and Vostok that I like quite well on a hot summer day.
I've mixed Mike's with an Arko stick and I think it actually improved both. Better lather from the Arko and better scent from the Mike's. i like it so much I may actually purchase both just to mix them together.
I've though about making my own soap at times then I think about how much I currently have and haven't used up yet and I put the idea on hold for a while. I'd love to try it at some point though.
