As an Australian I'm kinda surprised that lead with the most complaints on delays in shipping. I've bought loads of stuff from the US over the years and normally it should only take 1-2 weeks max for standard UPS delivery.

I know that over the past year there has been some problems with our customs service - mainly industrial action by them where they've gone on strike etc. I also think they're a little undermanned and so may have some slight delays but nothing excessive.

Again Australia are pretty tight with their rules on knives BUT I can't see a single item on CKtG that would even vaguely be open to getting rejected - so I can't imagine that this would be the cause of any delays.

I'm sure CKtG clearly mark their invoices/customs declarations as KITCHEN KNIVES - rather than Gyuto/Deba/Petty etc - as this would assist as the average Customs officer will have no idea what a Gyuto is therefore will flag it for inspection.

Kitchen knives are clearly stated on the Customs site as being 100% ok. Australia's postal service is pretty good, so this does surprise me - not sure if it's just due to the hassles of the past yr, but also due to our recent higher $ overseas purchases have massively increased meaning much higher volume of inspection needing to be done. 4 weeks on a delivery is really excessive...haha hope that won't be the case with mine. ;-)

I'm glad to hear that your orders have always arrived relatively quickly. And MOST do but it does happen with AU more than any other country. We do mark the items as "Kitchen knives" yes. I always thought the delays were due to high volume as you said. The good news is the packages ALWAYS get there.

I don't think we have ever shipped to India but I can't imagine it would be a problem.

What about India? I have a lot of family out there and when I went it seems like it would be impossible to ship to some of those areas. Just curious.
