CEDAR <> Do you realize your 1µ strop is more coarse than your 15k Shapton?

I do now

I honestly never thought to look at the grit size on the stone. I just looked at the "Grand Chart" and the 15k is ~.98µ. Given that diamond sprays are thought to "feel" coarse do you think I would be better served to skip the .5µ too and shave off the 15k?

Thanks for the heads up Mel.

Cedar. shaving of the 16k shapton gs can feel abit "crisp" and might be with pro 15k aswell have not tried that stone but.. do 100 to 150 laps on linnen after honing and then go the the clean strop and do another 100. if you find it abit agressive/crisp. should take it to a better feel.

I have been using my home made paddle strop with suede leather. I made it for my knives and not my razor. I have just replaced it with a razor strop with linen and smooth leather, and the difference is amazing.
