MARK <> Gotta say, I'm very excited about this announcement. As expected though, I am just as curious as to it's statistics. Do you have a ballpark estimate on the new arrival.?!

I am working on-the-road right now & only brought one "gyuto," my HD240 Funayuki. I had yet to spend a lot of time with her, and I'm using this opportunity to see how we come together. Thus far, an utterly satisfying union...

Yes these are on order. I should have them in about 5-6 weeks. I'm stressing Konosuke's blacksmiths with the volume I'm ordering. We have about 300 knives on order so they're just backed up and trying to catch up. Kosuke told me the Fujiyama blacksmith looked really tired when he visited him the other day. Not a good sign! :)

MARK <> Amid the post, "Richmond Laser vs. Konosuke HH or HD - Wa-Gyuto", @Thu Jul 12, 2012 4:13 pm you said that you had no plans on this knife.

Have you discontinued this project, or were you just saying you have no ETA?

Too tired to comment, but I've waited loyally since when this listing went live on CKTG in late May. IT IS NOW IN STOCK & I received mine today.

Havent used her yet, but she's big! Comes in at 279.4mm tip to heel. 182 grams. First Konosuke I have where the choil & spine arent really rounded that well. Choil/spine is pretty sharp & ive already received a few cuts from it.

Anyhow, excited to use her soon.

SHAUN <> I'm just way too busy to comment, but this thing is a beast of a blade. I was so tired (go figure) my measurement was off though... she's actually 276.2 mm

In 270, I'm used to a Suisin Inox Honyaki (pictured above in comparison IS a 240) with a cutting edge at 260mm. This knife honestly makes the Suisin feel like a 240; that 16mm feels like a damn sword. :P It's funny because along with her I got a KanehiroG3 150petty that feels like a feather... so nimble (I'm very much in love), and the parallel is funny. Normally my Konos feel like the feathers, and my Kanehiro AOS feel like the bricks.

I used this 150 & 270 combo along with a 90 petty for breakfast, lunch & dinner service yesterday, and am surprisingly pleased. I'll do the same today.

Gotta run...

...and I'm just too tired to review, but I had to finally hit the stones tonight (aka: had the time). Looking at the dates... that's 11 days of solid use! This HD2 edge retention is the real deal. And the results off the stones tonight...
