I would like to start building my collection of natural stones but I don't really know where to start. I like softer and muddy stones that are less likely to need a nagura or slurry stone. I would like to also keep it to small size stones to "sample" many and pick up a large stone occasionally after I've learned more about which ones would best suite my style.
I would like to start With a Aoto or a stone that follows one nicely but before a finishing/polishing stone, something in the 4-8k range.
If you have a favorite or two let's hear about them, user reviews encouraged.

Of course I have other suggestions too, but this would be at the top of the list. Send me a PM for details.
