Im wanting to thin my goko white #1 a bit any info would be greatly appreciated I've never tried this before any help would be awesome our even point me in the rite direction

It's easy to thin a knife. Here's the basics and when we are talking about thinning we're talking about the area right behind the actual edge to give the cutting edge better performance.

Find edge angle on stone. (Use the sharpie method)
Lower the spine a few degrees.
Grind until you get a burr.
Flip and repeat.

This will produce a thinned knife edge.

Less is more :) Sometime you just need to shave the shoulders a touch and the knife just cuts better.

What grit stone would you recommend for thinning?
