Hi Mark, wasn't sure which sub-forum to stick this in..
Is there an ETA on restocking Hamd American Boron Carbide? After much reading here and the reviews on the site I'm convinced I need some. :P
I have called and emailed Keith, no answer.
Thanks!

I'd wait for the Hand America paste, it's less expensive.
Send Mark an e-mail and you'll probable get an answer from him.

Thanks for the tip! I called Ken to ask about the BC, but after talking with him and getting some advice tailored to my needs I ended up ordering a couple bottles of CBN (1 and 4μ) instead. Ken was really knowledgable and helpful!

Jeff you appear to be confused.

Kens main lines of compounds consist of CBN and Poly , properly called Cubic Boron Nitride and Polycrtsalline Diamond.

He also offers BC , or Boron Carbide preperations , these are right around the same cost as the handamerica stuff.

Glad your happy Honzi , the CBN is faster and more versatile than BC.

Ken has mentioned that Diamond sprays/pastes leave harsh feeling edges on straight razors, is CBN what I would want to consider for this application?

For razors, I prefer chromium oxide. http://www.chefknivestogo.com/choxd4oz.html
I see there are now some CBN products that are equal or smaller in micron size than this, but haven't used any CBN product other than the 1 micron.

Mark carries a number of my products but certainly not all of them. I have CBN in slurries, suspensions and pastes and more recently emulsions. I carry grits in microns from 80 microns to 0.1 microns:
80 45 30 16 8 4 2 1.5 1 0.75 0.5 0.25 0.125 0.1

I also have polycrystaline diamonds 4 2 1 0.5 0.25 0.1 0.050 0.025 and most recently 0.015 microns. These are slurries, however I am expanding this category to include emulsions. So for instance I have 0.050 and 0.025 poly emulsions.

I have monocrystalline diamond in slurries in 0.1, 0.050 and 0.025 microns. In diamond films I go from 165 microns to 0.1 microns. These are monocrystalline diamond based.

In Boron Carbide, I currently have 4 grit sizes from 0.5 microns to 4 microns. These are all emulsion formulations. Some of these will be available shortly through CKTG.

All of my emulsion formulations are water soluble and work quite well on waterstones, leather , balsa and nanocloth strops and linen and leather belts. Boron Carbide is considerably less expensive than CBN.

If you have any questions about these products (there are others I haven't mentioned above), just call or email me for support at ksskss@earthlink.net or 209 612 2790.
