Hi Mark,

I recently bought the set of Shapton Pro ceraminc stones (1K, 5K & 8K). As I will need to lap these stones in the future, would you recommend the Dia-Sharp Extra Course and the Dia-Sharp Coarse 8 for these stones (one or other, or both?). Would these suit the grits of the Shapton Stones that I have?

Caroline.

Hi Caroline,

I recommend the DMT Extra Extra coarse for flattening. The XC takes longer and wears out more quickly.

I use the XXC all the time and I'm happy with it.

Definitely the XXC. I made the mistake of buying the XC the first time and it didn't take long to regret it.
