Hi, Mark:

I have a Kikuichi Elite Warikomi Damascus Tschime 8-inch chef's knife. Can you please tell me what Shapton splash 'n go stones you recommend for sharpening? I want to surprise my friend for his birthday.

Looking back over time, I believe you had recommended a 6K Shapton--so would that be 1K and 6K?

Also, how important is this accessory? He has other stones and when I mentioned, he seemed to think he'd be fine without it, but I welcome your feedback.

Thanks,
Hope

Hi Hope,

Try this shapton starter set. It's all he will need to get really good results: http://www.chefknivestogo.com/sh6pcstset.html

That would be a good set Mark linked to.

You could also get the 6k in place of the 4k. Just another option....one not really "better" than the other.

If he already has other stones then he probably has stone holders and accessories. I would just get him the 1k and 6k and go with it.
