First, on an asymmetrically ground knife, it's not just the "bevel" that is 70/30 or whatnot. It's the entire blade grind....spine to edge. Simply changing the bevel to 50/50 does nothing to the blade grind where the asymmetry lies.
To answer your question as I believe you meant it:
Define "problem", please.
On a thin knife (what we'd call a laser) it can be done with fewer (if any) effects felts. How much it affects you depends on how keen you are on noticing any changes.
Best to try it....if you don't like the results, change it back.
