How does the quality of this plate compare to a DMT plate?

I originally purchased the $25 diamond plate Mark offers, but I returned it and purchased the Atoma 140. Day and night difference regarding flatness. I intended to use it for flattening my stones and setting bevels, so quality mattered. As usual, you get what you pay for. - Josh

Sure thing, I know alot of people on this forum are very satisfied with the DMTs as well, but the uniqueness of the diamond pattern on the Atomas seem to offer more consistency when using it for setting bevels. Mine seems pretty dead flat as well for lapping.

I used to be a die hard DMT fan and refused to pay the ridiculous price for the Atoma's.

Then one day curiosity got the better of me......

I will never, ever go back to DMT!

The Atoma's are in a league of their own - in all aspects - period.

If you can afford it - go for the Atoma.

:)
