Hello mark,

I've been looking at your bunkas for a while now. I had my eye on your masakage shimo 165mm. But after reading the reviews for the takeda banno 170mm I'm wondering if I should just save for it. Is the takeda that superior of a knife? Also when would you be getting sayas back in for it? There is also the masakage koisi and the takeda stainless clad, how do they fit into the mix? Any advice would help. Also, for comparison to what I'm using now, my everyday is a konosuke hd. I just need a smaller knife for the line.

Thanks,

Clayton

This is always a hard question. My usual answer is you won't get twice the performance or enjoyment for twice the price (for example). Try the Shimo. It's an excellent knife and it's unique.

Most people that ask me either or questions end up getting them both eventually so don't fret over the choice too much.
