Well, I got some more done over the past 2 weekends!

1 Rosewood saya for a Takamura and a poplar saya for a yanagiba:

Rehandled an old cleaver, I cleaned up the blade a bit more, but the pics sucked. I will get some more pics once I finish off the edge. Second knife is a kono 165mm petty with buff horn/cherry handle, still gotta do the final fit and install the handle.

Goko referrule with Desert Ironwood:

I sanded the chestnut down a bit, so I will get some updated pics!

Also coming up in the pics will be a Kono Fujiyama White #1 with a referruled Goko handle with a Tiger Maple ferrule and sanded handle body, and a Kochi Kurouchi gyuto with bog oak, mamooth tooth and redwood handle! Forgot to upload the pics of those two.

I have handles for ChipB's Kato and Shig glued up, just need to shape, polish and install and a White/Black handle for another Goko! Been working some OT and trying to get as much done as possible. Also doing a Kohetsu Full Tang Wa in USA camo. Working on a Ivory Micarta/Black Micarta/Silver spacer multi piece knife and Micarta for a customer overseas. The remainder of the materials for a few other orders should be in this week!

Was that buffalo horn unfinished prior? You were able to get some really cool color/grain variations out of it. So accustomed to seeing buffalo horn jet black. Very cool.

It was a polished round IIRC and it has some white streaks. I just found a place with Honey Horn, so I ordered 4, 4" long pieces to see how it is :)

Quite a number of Gokos in the shop Tim. I like the ironwood you used on the one in the pictures.

I got a box of cut off's and 1 of's from Arizona Ironwood a few years ago, some may be good for a petty, but most of the stuff was on the smaller side, or 1 scale, but I did get a block for a ferrule size that worked out well! Interesting grain, but hard to photograph!

Damn Tim, mighty fine work all around. The Kocho is stunning and I love combo on the Kono w/goko handle. My favorite may be the clever handle though. Just perfectly compliments the visual character of the blade.

We wanted something simple, rustic and old school for the cleaver. It had a metal collar and a lighter plain color wood on it, so we wanted to keep the old rustic look.

All of these just got a coat of Tung oil; I use Denatured Alcohol to clean up the extra JB Kwik Weld when installing handles, so I usually do a coat or two to replace what the DNA wipes off. Looking at shipping tomorrow or Weds hopefully. If not, Friday at the latest since I have Friday off!
