Been a hectic past few months, but I finally got some knives just about done! Oiling the handles, then the final install and shipping! Had a break in the rain, so I ran out to get some quick pics.

Silky Oak handles. Top is for Bikeman for his Kono Kiritsuke with the butterscotch Micarta ferrule, next 2 are 2 for CKTG, Kono 240mm Kiritsuke, silky oak and Carbonite Black M3, and the bottom is a Laser AS 240mm with Stainless Damascus M3 ferrule and Red/Blue Redwood:

Damn Tim, looking good and well worth the wait! The bog oak grip is fucking outstanding (as is the maple, but the bog oak and honey horn is a show stopper).

Bog oak is an awesome wood in handles I'm finding. Very little expansion/contraction with environmental conditions and absorbs almost no moisture. I love the aesthetics and feel of it as well which is a bonus. Given that, thinking the rest of my handles are probably going to be in that wood.

Love the elegant but low key look of those Silky Oak handles!

Got some better pics today w/o the tape. Tomorrow I will start doing the final handle fitting and epoxying!

Nice! Everything looks better when you can see the steel!
