I had placed a new custom board order from John Loftis, and I almost got a heart attack last week, when I got a shipping exception form UPS saying that there was a train derailment and the status of my package was not known.
Thank god the status was updated the next day and the shipment was just 1 day late from the original delivery date.

I received my new custom cutting board from John Loftis last week. I chose a Maple and Cherry combination. This board is 14"x20". It also has rubber feet, although the pictures do not show it installed yet.

I am extremely happy with my choice. It was nicely packed for shipping. I am now in the process of oiling it and I have installed the rubber feet. The colors are getting darker and it has a nice shine to it now. I will post more pictures when the oiling process is over.

Let me know what you guys think.

These are taken with my phone camera and it does not do it justice.

A little better lighting in this one.

That looks really cool!!!!! Very nice!! I have my 4th board from John incoming :)

I HATE those dang Train Derailment Delays!!! I wish they would tell you if the package was in the delay or not when they post those!! I got one of those a few weeks ago when I sent 4 knives to CKTG; the train derailed somewhere along the line out west the day mine was shipped, so it wasn't in the derailment, but there was an extra day delay while they cleaned the track and got everything up and running.

Beautiful board! I have a cherry one and am in the process of placing a second order very soon. I was really surprised how nice that cherry glows when it's oiled! Would be proud to have that on my countertop!

Mark, I agree with you on that one. Great wood, interesting combos, and excellent workmanship. Also, very responsive to customer input. What's not to like!

We've sold 5 boards already John. I also stole a 14" x 14" walnut board for our kitchen and I love cutting on it. It's much softer on my edges than the bamboo one we used before.
