Could anyone tell me about the cheaper, black handled Tojiro kitchen shears? I know the pricier ones can be taken apart, but can the other one just be unscrewed for sharpening/cleaning also?

Any reviews on these for durability?

Thanks!!

These can be unscrewed and taken apart with 1 phillip's screw and sharpened like any other pair. They are extremely durable, solid metal construction with a very durable hard black paint over the handle area. Both sides are straight edged, although one side has some serrations that don't reach the edge. I can only think this is for more grip while cutting certain things. Overall these scissors have exceeded my expectations, and have yet to feel the need to sharpen after a good bit of use. I've been a little rough on them for more than one occasion :D

I cannot speak of these particular shears, but I have owned a pair of Tojiros for many, many years. They have cut through truck loads of crustaceans, bones, cardboard, leather, all kinds of stuff that should have killed them looong ago. They're still good as new, seriously!
