You served me well for four years. Happened sooner than I hoped, but with how thin it wore I wasn't surprised when it happened.

I can still use the larger piece until I find out what the next forum sale is (excited that its on a stone). Though its not entirely flat ill just suck it up until I replace it. Need to figure out what to do with the smaller pieces though. Is there a way to harvest the stone material to use on a balsa strop? Maybe just give it to somebody for pocket knife touch ups?

NBLES <> I have done just that, and saved my mud in a plastic to-go container. Then I slather a balsa strop with it, and have a touch up strop w/o having to soak a stone.

You gave it a good life and you will find uses for it live a little longer.

How long did you have it and how frequently did you use it?

Better: how many sharpenings did you get out of it? I thought these stones lasted a long time.

You got some good use out of that stone! Smaller pieces come in handy from time to time.

Mano - Around 4 years. It was the only stone I used for pretty much everything for a while.

Did I waste a lot of steel and stone? yeap, I seem to learn everything the hard way. In life, at work, sharpening.
