Hi Everyone,

My name is Brandon Hampton. I am a kitchen knife maker out of San Diego California. I use predominately CPM 3V steel, but have also done some damascus work as well. Here are some pictures of my work, and I look forward to getting to know this community!

Close up of a handle made of teak from the USS California, sunk at Pearl Harbor, resurfaced, re outfitted, the USS California fought the Japanese for the remainder of WWII. I was fortunate enough to come across this material from my pal, and the one who showed me the craft of knife making, Duane Dwyer of Strider Knives.

Nice looking blades Brandon, welcome to the forum! That's a really cool piece of teak to have on a knife, thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks! That material was definitely a pleasure to work with, and I'm making the owner a matching 6" utility knife and a paring knife. I'm also looking forward to making handles in the near future out of some ancient Cowry wood I've come across, again by knife maker Duane Dwyer. Should be some very pretty stuff!

Damn, lovely work, I can't wait to try my hand at smithing in 20 days time, also isn't African blackwood sort of redlisted? But damn it fits the knifes, always wondered how black handles would look like on a good knife. I think you nailed it. And welcome, lots and lots of nice people and info here, and I haven't been here more that a few months myself.

Thanks for the continued kind words! It's gonna take me a while to navigate this forum for sure! Do makers sell knives on this forum as well?
