Those of you who have over 1,000 posts and enjoy giving recommendations I want to help you help me. I was thinking of sending about 5 gyutos around so you guys could try them out.

Once again, thanks to everyone that helps me with the much repeated question "what knife should I get?" :)

I don't know who is over 1,000 posts or who would be interested. I'll come up with a list of knives after we figure out who is into it.

Off the top of my head:

Adam?
Tim?
Shaun?
Jeff?
Melumpus?

I'm sure there are others so speak up if you want in.

I like this idea too. Does this count as a post? Cause I want in on this pass around!

I don't want to speak out of turn, but for what it's worth, in addition to the names previously mentioned, lepus, Rick (Tall Dark and Swarfy) and cedarhouse have added a lot of value in my exploration of the space and seem to be pretty active/interactive on the forums. Have a suspicion that the gyutos in question might be pretty nice and would certainly enjoy hearing their thoughts on the blades as well.

I get a lot out of participating and reading the knife suggestions here. I'm secure enough in my knowledge to say I knew a good bit about knives before I joined, but many of the guys here, i.e., Steve, Adam, Melampus, blow me out of the water and will for years. Actually, what has helped me the most is reading stone recommendations. A stone pass around would be something I'd be even more interested in. All in all, it's great reinforcement on a very large selection (the factually massive CKTG inventory) of what's out there.

And if you wanted to incentivise heavy posting, well done!

Man I am out of my element if my post count even compares to those guys. But if you will have me, I'm in.

I would love to expand my repertoire.

Cedar, You and I will give them the common man's perspective. ;)

I'll do it.

Ok Jeff and Cedar, you guys are in. I'm making Adam do this too so that's 3. Maybe one or two more.
