Why is there such a price discrepancy in the fujiwara Nashiji 240 gyuto and 135mm petty knives? It seems like a a larger than normal difference.

I was wondering about the > 50% increase between the 210 and 240 gyuto myself. It makes the 210 seem like a bargain.

The 180mm santoku to 195mm gyuto is an interesting gap too. If I wanted a santoku I know where I'd look--it and the pettys are comparatively affordable.

Beats me. I asked too and was told "the price is the price".

"the price is the price"

Haha! Must be a Japanese idiom or something.

I was wondering what blade I was gonna get after My Kono HD 270 Ebony Funy arrives at the kitchen tomorrow, Feb 19th.
I was all over the forum this past weekend and can't remember where I seen an in depth post from Melampus on this knife the Teru/Fuji 240, besides his review. Either way, I was surfing around in here after work this evening and came across Mel's Inventory Photo and seen that 240 in a different pose.
Mel could you send me a pm on where that knife stands in your inventory, based on your review I have a pretty good Idea. But I need a slight nudge. My 7 knife CKTG collection, Pales in comparison to yours but I do have a natural progression within mine. I do dig my Teru/Fuji Santoko I got last month.
Plus I'm sure your opinion is highly regarded within the community, I wouldn't want to miss out on the chance, by someone else overextending themselves ever soo slightly to get a top 5 knife.

Another better link: teruyasu-240-gyuto-t4963.html. I forgot about this review topic.
