Just looking to get some feed back. Seems to be a pain trying to find a tall Japanese gyuto! Any love?

Make sure you peek around - some gyutos not listed as 'tall' are pretty tall, and some listed as 'tall' really aren't *that* tall. For instance, in yo gyuto, the masamoto VG is 52-53mm, and the Richmond Artifex is a shade under 55mm. Not much difference.

I own one of Takeda's gyutos and really like it. I used it tonight. Tall, thin and hard.

Used one, loved it, always wanted to own one but for one reason or another never did.

I mean I have a super deep pinch grip. And a 45mm height just doesn't cut it. (food pun indeed)

I have the "Small" As classic 210 and love it. Just wondering if there were any other brands to look at around that height.

That Richmond Addict SLD is really nice - thin, light, great grinds, fit & finish.

The richmond addict SLD does look awesome. Semi-stainless tool steel with Kono grinds at an amazing price. Only reason I didn't buy it was because it was too tall for my liking.
