So after barely a decade, my iPod battery gave up the ghost. No sweat, right? Just open her up and slap a new battery in. Uh-huh... But first one has to open the case.

The web is full of written and video tutorials on how to open the case of an iPod. And each one starts with 'Gently open the case using an Apple soft tool.' Balls! After half an hour of grunting and profanity trying to shove a half inch thick piece of rounded plastic into a gap best measured in thou I came up with a new plan.

'Viciously attack the case using a 9" Rapala Coho filet knife.'

Fixed!
