Yikes, that sucks. I know they were definitely a hot item, took me well over a year to finally get an order in on one.

Ive been using the F Dick polished steel as a stand in, its a pretty good substitute I imagine.

I was lucky enough to get one this morning when they became available. Been waiting forever for it to come back in stock. Mark said earlier today that they sold out quick again as usual but that he would have more back in stock in the future. So hopefully it's not discontinued.

These are difficult for Keith to make and I would rather have him use his time producing the strop sprays and pastes for us and keep us in stock on those products.

We have a bunch of good alternative rods on the site and I would just rather sell those since we can stay in stock with them. The above mentioned F Dick Polished steel is our top selling steel for Japanese knives as well as the Mac Black ceramic. Both of these we have 50-60 in stock at all times and they sell really well.

Our goal this year is to cut down our out of stock items by 70%. This requires us to order and stock more stuff and discontinue items that we can't get enough of. I'm going to try really hard to make ordering easier for you guys and life easier for us and this means making some tough choices like this. You will see more of this going forward across all of our lines. If we can't get stuff in a timely manner I'm getting rid of it.

That's too bad. As a customer being able to order stuff that isn't available elsewhere is one of the big draws you have I think.

I get it but it's still too bad.

+ 1

I added up the order total in my history the other day and the figure was quite shocking (and kind of depressing), but there is stuff here I can't get anywhere else and it keeps me coming back.
