MARK <> Of course... the questions begin. ;)

    Are these going to be laminated?
    If not, will they be Lasers, & what finish do you anticipate they will be (i.e., kasumi, kurouchi, etc.)?
    How hard?
    Ho or rosewood?

My vote (as if it matters) for the petty:

deep blade (30+mm) with slight belly, for good usefulness on a board
kasumi
rosewood
63-ish

Thanks for asking.

San mai blades (laminated).

Magnolia octagonal handles

The HAP40 stainless knives will be HRC65. The Aogami Super will be HRC63.

Finish will be kasumi.

KALEAB <> Aogami Super = Hitachi Blue Super Steel

HAP40 is a badass Stainless Steel powder technology metal that has been used as tool steel, but is apparently venturing into kitchen cutlery. The steel is fine grained so as to allow acute sharpening, it can be heat treated to sickening hardness allowing for extreme edge retention & it's supposedly not prone to chipping as typical steels are at that Rc.

HAP40= C: 1.27-1.37, W: 5.60-6.50, V: 2.80-3.30, Cr: 3.70-4.70, Mo: 4.60-5.40, Co: 7.50-8.50....
Im no expert, but this steel looks completely badass! I feel like it should outperform AOS hands down, anyone have any experience with it to confirm?
Can't wait for these knives to come in!! :D :D
