I want to get a good sharpening set up to start with and noticed that the 5 piece kit is out of stock. Any update on when they will be available again? Also beside the kit what would be a good "set" of stones to look at?

Thanks

You can still get the stones from the set.

Bester 1200
Suehiro Rika 5000

If you get everything a la carte it's like $10 more expensive. But you don't have to wait.

It looks like the felt block is out of stock is all.

You could get the felt pad from HA to replace it. You can still use it without the HA base, it's just a touch trickier. I use mine atop a piece wood....double stick tape is amazing stuff. :)

Email Mark and ask him, he is pretty quick about getting back to emails. If it's the felt block that is missing, I think he might have some back in stock, I got one a few days ago.

edit- I might or might not be thinking about a different felt block, YMMV :)

Yes I'm out of the deburring block. I ordered 500 of them over a month ago and they have been taking their sweet time getting them to me. I think they sent me some of them 4 days ago so the set and the block should be back in stock tomorrow or the next day.

Supply problems are one of the more frustrating things I deal with. It's so much extra work when we run out of stuff.
