Started with this at around 930am today! This is my Spork deer. It's a spike buck, with tiny little nubs starting a 3rd and 4th point. Not really a 4 pt deer, but a little more than a spike, so it's a Spork! Got it on Thursday with my Marlin 336 in 35 Rem, shot was around 108 yds according to my buddies range finder! Not a bad shot thru the woods!
And around 615pm or so, this was dinner! Backstraps dredged in flour and McCormick Smokehouse Maple and Molasses Bacon seasoning, fried in the pan with some red wine. Let stand while I cooked up some mushrooms and onions. Nacho Cheese Mashed Potatoes to go with it (Hence the neon yellow coloring to the potatoes!)

Thanks! I had originally thought the shot was around 80 yds or so, but my buddy proved me wrong! LOL. 108 yds through the woods and brush with a lever gun with a fairly low powered scope is a bit of a long shot!

Looks great Tim. Congrats.
Made some venison chili yesterday during college football. Warmed us up in the bitter cold, and felt right for the season. Love me some venison.

I just got my PAL and picked up a nice lil .22 about a year ago. Wanting to start out on some smaller game, but cant wait to stock the freezer with a nice buck!
