I was watching some YouTube clips about Masamoto knives. Noticed their shop is near the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. How many more name knife makers are in the area besides Masamoto? I know Aritsugu is there too. And I think Kikuichi.

I know Aritsugu and Kikuichi offer tours for tourists. English speaking guides and sharpeners. Kikuichi even lets you attempt a blade. Hammer your name on your knife in Kanji. :)

I know one area I will now be visiting the next time I'm in Tokyo (been to Tokyo 14 times...had zero interest in kitchen knives). :)

I do find it interesting that several smiths would choose to setup shop there. Around the famous fish market. I mean if they had a "Deba's R Us" I'd understand. :)
