Thx for recs, just bought the Yukis

Thanks to all who opined on our knife choices ... I went with the Masakage Yuki line, a Honosuke to bone chicken and a 240MM Gyuto for starters ... will be back for more knives and a sharpening set after we get our feet wet with these 2 ... (soon)

CELT <> The Yukis are very impressive knives. They have a unique strength to them that is defied by their extremely thin edges. I also enjoy the thick emotos as they really give you something to pinch whilst still tapering quickly.

You're in my County. If you want to see a knife before your next purchase from CKTG, I have more than a few in stock, and I'm glad to play ambassador.

Melampus as a personalized (and more intriguing) Korin? You'd be well served taking him up on that. We do pretty well here I think, but there's nothing like using a knife before buying it.

Not to mention the depth of knowledge Mel has for good knives for your general use.
