I've never seen this particular length, but I have a couple of his 270mm yanagi and they were well made. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I rehandled Aarons custom 300mm lefty Yanagiba from Tanaka, very nice grinds! I don't see any problems getting one!

As Tim said I own a left 300 and will soon be asking Mark to get me another. Very straight. Not much work needed on it to flatten. Mr. Tanaka is my go to as of now for singles. I'd say pull the trigger.

Does this knife require anything out of the box?
Can you just take it out, and start slicing?

You could use it out of the box but odds are very good that there isn't much of an edge, so you'll want to do the whole thing flatten blade road and such. But once that's done you'll be good for a while depending on how much you use.
