How bout the forum special green brick 2k to go after the 600 diamond? Can add the 5k or more later.

It might work but would be silly to do so. If your goig to start using waterstones then start with a 1k and move up. Going from diamond to waterstone in the finer grits doesn't mesh well, trust me.

I say 1k because it's still aggressive enough to remove diamond scratches and is much faster than a fine diamond. It makes for a easier transition to fine waterstones.

I still have a 1200 grit diamond plate. It does clean up the scratches from the 600 pretty well. It's feedback isn't great but it does work, just have to be careful using it. The 2k stone is for making a transition to a 1 micron diamond strop on balsa then bare horse butt strop. Am quite happy with my edges now but want to give stones a try.
