We have a massive amount of Edge Pro products so we figured it would be good to have a whole section on how to use the machine and what to use on it.

Hello,

For us heavy(-ily)-duty-taxed europeans, would anyone have the details of the springs that best suit the EP ? Any information like inside diameter, length, wire radius, would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks a lot,

Nick.

I got one of these springs and like it a whole lot. There is one thing that could happen if not careful though. You know how when you are using the EP the rear stone holder can hit the knife edge? According to Ben's videos this is for safety. But, if you hit the edge hard enough and push a little you can push the holder back because it is held forward with the spring. This would let the stone fall out.

This is why Ben doesn't include them with the Apex. He has something like it on the Pro model. I mentioned the spring in an email about some other subject and this is what he told me. I didn't think of it my self and I have not accidentally dropped a stone. I do hit the edge of the knife sometimes but it is not intentional and the force I use when I do hit it isn't enough to have made the holder move back so the stone falls.

I hope this doesn't jinx anyone but I figured knowing about the possibility could prevent an accident.
