Also, Drtrinidad, I have not heard of anyone using leather, but I would think that the density of the leather and typical thicknesses would keep the resin from penetrating well unless the pressure was obscene or the resin was very very thin. Who knows though! You never know until you try!

I love the way you re-purpose old materials - having a knife with an old piano key in the handle is just about as cool as it gets. Hope I'm lucky enough to own one of these knives some day.
