We have a massive amount of Edge Pro products so we figured it would be good to have a whole section on how to use the machine and what to use on it.

Hey guys. So ive had some practice with my bare bones edge pro pro sharpener now. So i ordered some stuff from ken....
Complete atoma plate set.
Complete shapton set.
4x 3x11 nanocloth strops on glass.
And the polycrystalline diamond sprays from 60k-640k. (one for each strop)
Cant wait for everything to get here.
Any good tips/tricks i could be learning in the meantime?

Firstly, hello & welcome to the forum.
Secondly, how long have you been sharpening on the edgepro?

Have you been using the EP plenty?
What are your results like?

Been using it lots. Still practicing keeping the bevels equal and such but so far im getting great results with the 2 base stones (220 and 400) and then getting shaving sharp edges off of the included ceramic hone. (kinda using it like you would use the rods on a sharpmaker)
I honestly didn't think I would be able to get shaving sharp edges off of the base model pro kit. So needless to say im looking forward to seeing what the upgraded stuff does
Looking forward to getting some madrookie esque edges.

You should be getting shaving sharp & paper push cutting edges at this level of finish......
De-burr correctly and use very, very light alternating single blade strokes per side for your last couple of passes.
Your last couple of strokes should be only the weight of the stone arm - actually I lift it slightly to induce even less pressure.
Go ahead & try it - you will be surprised at the results.

Thats what i do. Strop very lightly with the stone the last few passes. Alternating sides frequently. So it did surprise me.

Good - well done.
