Slicer

Hi,

I'm looking for a nice slicer for a chef who prefers Japanese knives. I'm leaning towards Konosuke HH but I have had people suggest the Tamahagane Kyoto slicer as well as the Hattori. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Is you chef friend a chef in a sushi restaurant by chance? If he is it would be best to get him a yanagi. I'm guessing this is not the case and he would most likely like a Suji.

There are a lot of good suji's out there.

I like the Hattori knives....never tried the Tamahagane's though.
