Shiro Kamo R-2 Sujihiki 270mm

I was looking at the Shiro Kamo R-2 Sujihiki 270mm and was wondering if you have any details on what type of steel it is made from and clad in.

Hi Henry,

R-2 is the core steel. It's a powdered stainless steel that is very abrasion resistant and can take an acute edge and holds it well. It's also called SG-2 by another mill but essentially the same stuff.
The HRC is about 62-62 on these knives.

The damascus cladding is some mix of stainless steels but I'm not sure what exactly. They're beautiful, hand made knives and they perform really well.
