Hi, Thank you all for your information first off I truly appreciate all the feedback i can get before i drop close to 500 dollars into a honing set as this is not pocket change to me, so if you have 2 cents PLEASE throw it in. I do have a fair amount of experience with honing straight razors and knives. I would like to add that it actually makes quite the difference when you go straight fro 220 to 3k on a straight razor, it really takes a while to ensure that all of the previous scratches are removed from the edge and it also causes unnecessary hone wear to the razor. As the the 600 chosera will predominantly be purchased for the initial honing of cheaper chinese razors that have spine/edge alignment issues and to repair nicked/ chipped blades. I feel that anything lower than 600 grit would be to low for a straight razor and am only going for 600 because of all the positive reviews i have found on the chosera 600 for general use and straight razor honing. The reason i wanted a 1.5k stone was to make the processes more smooth so there is not a bunch of time wasted on the transition in 1k and 5k as i will already have the 600 chosera as well. So if anyone has any review or information on the 1.5k shapton i would be grateful as information is scarce on this stone. As stated before if anyone has a better progression of stones for straight razor honing, keep in mind im poor, please let me know.

I sharpened 18 straight razors yesterday, most were very old and in poor condition (a collector stopped in) and I never needed anything lower than a 1k to fully restore the edge. I have used the 600 chosera once for a razor but only because it was very thick.
I mainly use my Nubatama 1k gold for setting bevels on razors then move to natural stones to finish. I have also used the 1k and 5k bamboo stones followed by the 10k Imanishi without issue. BTW, I sharpen professionally and do my fair share of razors every week, it would need to be a pretty seriously neglected razor to go below 1k.
