My prefered method is to round over your stone edges and sharpen on them. Same principles apply. Keep the angle contant as you slide the edge over the rounded edge of the stone until you get a burr. Then move up through your finer stones.

On a belt, using a slack belt works pretty easily. A leather belt with say 4 micron CBN paste will satisfy most folk's needs, but of course I go finer. With stones, I have narrow cut stones that follow the curve nicely, and for customers who want it I can shape the stone to the desired curvature, especially narrow stones. From there you just keep the angle constant as you would with any 'normal' knife.
