We have a massive amount of Edge Pro products so we figured it would be good to have a whole section on how to use the machine and what to use on it.

This is my first post and I am thankful for such a friendly and helpful forum.
I am some what new to sharpening and am very excited as I just puchased a Shapton Glass set along with a 2k stone and an angle cube. I know I will need a leveling stone and I been reading up on that.
My question is what should I get besides the things I just ordered? What should I get that is a smooth transition from the 8k stone (besides the 16k and 30k stone)? I am fairly new to all these strops and sprays and films. How would the EP 6k film work? Am I better off with some type of strop and spray? What would you guys get next? I am open to opinions and advice as I wouldnt mind adding a few more things to my set.
Thank you in advance.

I forgot to ask (I can't seem to edit my OP) but what kind of base do you use for your EP? I have seen people use their EP in a cookie sheet/baking pans. Im just trying to get ideas of what should i do. Thanks.

Revival, go to User Control Panel, Board Preferences, and change the language to British English. You can then edit posts for a set time after you create them.
Nice set for the EP! I don't think you need to add anything just yet. Use your setup for a while, then determine if you want to add other stones or strops/compounds later. 8k is a pretty darned refined edge on it's own.

+1 SteveG. Master your current kit first.
The EP films bring a nice polish but they're finicky buggers. Also, for the hardest steels they won't abrade the carbides. I have moved on to heavy duty diamond films on glass for the hardest steels.
Yes, a sheet pan is a great way to create a workstation. Has to be perfectly flat though otherwise your angle cube will be all over the map.
