I am looking at getting a Konosuke HD2 gyuto, and while it's semi-stainless, I have read that it can get a patina (or some show spots, etc). Along with this I have of course also heard that with good care, the semi-stainless in the HD2 won't show those spots, etc.
Anyone have pictures of what the HD2 (or other semi-stainless blades) looks like after taking some patina? I am trying to get an idea of what it looks like in the event that it does patina over time.
Also, getting an idea of exactly how careful I would have to be with it in order to avoid the spots, etc would be helpful. Are they easily removed?

My HD2 has a patina, It is a very light blue. the patina is so light that I doesn't show up on a camera, it only shows up if you shine It in the light the right way. I actually didn't know I had one, until I was cleaning the blade in the sink near the window and the light hit It the right way

Hopefully someone with a picture will get a chance to answer this.
I've had a few in for rehandles that had a slight patina.....but nothing I could really photograph. It's nothing like a carbon knife.
Now, my TKC has a few very tiny gray spots on it....but again, nothing a picture could probably pick up.
I have seen a few pictures of HD/HD2 knives that showed a patina though.
