I use , in the drawer wood slotted storage blocks made by Wusthof. I have room for 32 assorted Gyutos, Petty's , slicing, paring,
chef's knives , etc. in one drawer. The long knives go in the lower slots and the thinner blades use the top slots. A standard kitchen cabinet drawer can handle up to 270mm long blade no problem. I have a cherry wood 22 slot block on the counter top for more knives. Softer woods like walnut and cherry are less likely to scratch the blades when you slide them in and out.
