Safety razor changes

How often do you change your safety razors? Do the blades vary in holding an edge?

I change my blade when it starts to pull or gets uncomfortable. For me its about a week to week and a half but I only use a DE on my neck. Tough hairs that grow sideways :(

I usually change after 3 shaves.

But it's definitely dependent on the blades. Some i can go a week before being bothered by the shave. Recent batch i just got i barely get 2 nice shaves out of.

It depends on the blade, i tend to run 4 or 5 days with the & o'clock super platinum.

Depends on the blade. AstraSP, Sharks and Shark Chrome get 3-4 shaves. 7 O'Clock blacks get 5-6. Getting excess moisture off the blade before putting the razor away can help a smidge.

Quote myself :)

It just occurred to me that perhaps i'm shortening their life by keeping my razor in the shower. (It hangs on the wall in a dedicated holder. Doesn't get hit by the water but it's obviously pretty humid/wet in there most of the time.)

Should test the same blades but bring the razor out of the bathroom when not in use see if they get better life.

No matter what I would change the blade every week. Some blades will last a few more, some less.
The secret is to find a blade that performs well for you. I just got back into DE shaving. The cartridge razor I was using is discontinued, and I refuse to pay $2-3 dollars each for those multi blade cartridges.
