I've noticed some nakiri's have a more rounded tip (i.e.- tojiro, mac and a few others) while other have a squared off tip (i.e.- moritaka, takeda). What are the advantages and disadvantages of the 2 types? I'm guessing the rounded tip allows for some rocking motion while the squared tip allows only for push cutting. Just my assumption, would love to hear from a few others.

Practically, I prefer the round tip. However, not for rocking. The square tips can dig into the cutting board as you're push cutting. Rounded tips don't.
Otherwise I've never noticed a difference.

No curves make for easier sharpening but I too like a little curve at the front.
